Up early and walked the length of the lake, it’s always so
nice to see people getting ready for their day, it’s all so fresh and new.
Turned around at one point and suddenly could see the
beautiful mountains, seemingly just behind the shops. They looked so picture perfect
and clear. And very high!!! I’m getting really excited now ( oh and of course
petrified as well!).
I walked past the Royal Summer Palace, which is now being
turned into a museum after the killing of the entire Royal family some time
ago. It runs for almost a kilometre along the lake, and you can see why they
came here. It looks beautiful, all moss covered stone and lovely garden.
Sat and had coffee with my bacon and eggs, watching the many
weird and wonderful sights go by.
Holy men,
Produce merchants,
and lots of souvenirs.
Latter in the day I saw this truck, which I think is
decorated in a style that could definitely catch on in Australia’s mining
industry. They really do know how to pimp a ride here!
Spent the day buying last minute things, nuts, M and M’s
(now this required some major hunting and cost me a fortune!!!), and more baby
wipes (12 days is a long time!). Then back to wrap spare foot tape around
everything and sort through the medication (how much Voltarin and Ibuprofen is
it really fair to ask my porter to carry?)
